Google спря пилотната програма на Project Ara в Пуерто Рико
Изглежда, че светът ще трябва да почака още малко, преди да види наистина модулния смартфон на Google, известен като Project Ara.
През януари компанията обяви, че ще пусне най-напред пилотна версия на проекта в Пуерто Рико през тази година, но сега стана ясно, че тези планове са се променили.
Идеята зад Project Ara е създаването на базова структура на смартфон, която позволява на потребителите да добавят или изваждат различни модули като сензори и повече памет. Според анализатори, този тип гъвкав хардуер може да представлява бъдещето на смартфоните и мобилните изчислителни устройства.
Предполага се, че забавянето на Project Ara е свързано с мащабната реорганизация, която Google ще претърпи в резултат на обявяването на холдинговата компания Alphabet по-рано тази седмица. Тъй като под шапката ѝ попадат огромен брой иновативни проекти, само бъдещето ще покаже дали някои от тях няма да бъдат променени или направо прекратени.
В случая с Project Ara, екипът не дава информация какво би могло да се случи с програмата, но обещава повече подробности през следващата седмица. Утешителен е фактът, че едно от съобщенията в Twitter профила на Project Ara категорично заявява, че проектът „няма да ходи никъде“.
